Adding Style with CSS

Tonge IT Suite, Brookes, Gipsy Lane, Oxford

Lets look at some design issues and then from our Photoshop 'comps' we will create a sample page in HTML and use CSS to style according to our prototype.

We also look at using Dreamweaver as a prototyping tool.

  • CSS: Cascading Style Sheets
  • Methods of applying the style definitions
  • CSS syntax
  • units of measure (pixels, ems, percentages, points)
  • The cascade
  • Pseudo elements
  • classes and identities
  • Hyperlinks
  • colours and how to find and set them
  • CSS3 - new ways of achieving special effects
  • Browser interpretations
  • Tools to help develop
  • Dreamweaver is an option.

here is a demo web page - look at the source.
