Projects - Process and Progress
The Medicine Publishing Company
This medical journal publisher needed a complete overhall of their web site. This is delivered with Expression Engine and one company editor is responsible for the content.

The project that I was so proud of has now been completely re-built by the folks at Elsevier!
- Looks:
- not so good. Over complicated.
- Different button styles
- Graphics
- very poor.
- Menus built with images not sharp
- Code:
- built with tables and spacer gifs.
I shouldn’t go on because this is sour grapes!

The Medicine Publishing Company has been purchased by Elsevier so, we will be waiting to see if they want to continue with this project.

I have now incorporated the RSS feed as supplied by Extensa for the data they hold for ‘Medicine Publishing Company’. I find that I am having to hack some code to separate out authors when there are more than one.
The main text is lumped together under the description and so I can’t separate out details unless I use some regular expressions and post process this with a bit of PHP. Here is an example page
