About Presentations

image

The presentation that you see here are all my own work. That is, I built the shows and talked the talk. The primary list points to shows built with S5 (see Eric Meyer's site that explains this). But some are also provided as PDF.

I sometimes use Apple Keynote and then I publish here as PDF.

This is worth expanding on a little bit here.

I should point out that I probably wouldn't be using this system if it wasn't for the fact that I have now built a section within my ExpressionEngine CMS to *easily build a presentation. I have a template that pulls the content from an entry that I have posted using a set of fields (up to 13 'slides' ) with bullet points. Currently I use tinyMCE WYSIWYG editor and this makes it easy to add bullets and indented bullets.

There has been a discussion about have an entry page for individual slides and then combining using a category. Certainly, with EE 1.4's ability to add categories at Publish time makes this possible. This would work and could be an advantage when wanting to keep adding slides. My real worry with this though is how to add the material for slide 1 and any extra material to describe the presentation overall.

Sometimes I am using Eric Meyer's S5 1.2a1 version in Alpha. This also has a notes feature which I have yet to make much use of.

Ideas for the future: I would like to add the ability to upload a background image for each presentation and then add this to the CSS. Probably very straightforward to do.
