Tiger TextEdit

Good news for getting Word documents into HTML. Apple’s new OS (Tiger - OS X 1.4) comes with TextEdit 1.4 which will open Word documents and save them out again as HTML.

Preferences include the abilty to include CSS or to simply turn OFF. This really suits me, because when colleagues send me their documents heavily styled (usually inappropriately), I can simply save as simple XHTML. Just getting rid of empty paragraphs is all I need to do.
