Photos from trip to Greece
Here is a set of photos from a recent family holiday on the Greek islands of Paros and Naxos.
So as to make this topical and relevant to PageToScreen, I am adding here a few remarks about my experiences in a couple of internet cafes, while trying to keep in touch with projects that are on the go right now.
furthermore...
I have to say how useful it is to have an account at Protopage, because, when away from home, it is easy just to login to my home page there and then get access to all my other pages (Basecamp, web mail, web host control panel etc). Of course I do need to carry with me (mostly in my head), all my logins and password details.
For an online survey project I have been using SurveyMonkey. This is great for setting up complex questionaires. More on this later, but suffice it to say, that you can keep in touch with this, even while on holiday. I even made some design changes for the client, while the rest of the family were on the beach!
I don't know, what it is like in other places, but the 2 internet cafés that I used worked like this:
- Arrive and be given a slip of paper with a password. Pay 5 euros for up to 15 minutes. If you don't use it up you can come back with the same password.
- Arrive and be gived a swipe card, be directed towards a computer. When you finish, you go to the counter and get the bill.
Both these methods work well, although, with method 2, you have to keep your eye on the time, as you could run up a big bill. I have to say, though, that this was the fastest connection.
