User Generated Optimism
At the NMK event in London yesteday, we were fortunate enough to see the future.
This glimpse into the crystal ball was assisted by Colin Donald of FutureScape.
Colin’s vision was of the blogosphere being much more connected and easier to cross refer. We are likely to see ‘blog this’ buttons on all pages, so that news and views can be shared and referenced. We see this already on Flickr and if you want to see a couple of my photos on Flickr from this event then Look here.
furthermore...
I took away some thoughts:
We must discourage the use of email (specially attachments) and encourage the use of web services like blogging and wikis and photo galleries.
Content needs to be 'machine readable', so we need to be able tag the content. One example is reviews. These need to be categorised, so they can be located easily.
I need to consolodate some of my 'spaces'. I have too many choices right now. Shall I blog here? Shall I blog on ChrisJennings.net?, Shall I Flickr?
Other things learnt today:
You can sell your photos to the press at Scoopt. We learnt about this from Kyle MacRae.
Alfie Dennan told us about MoblogUK
Anthony Lilley introduced Channel Four's FourDocs website which invites 4 minute documentary films. They are looking for 150-200 films to be available on the site.
