Jeffrey Veen

A very attractive book that now (2006) may be a little bit dated. However, it is an excellent introduction to some of the basic concepts like structure and behavior pf web sites.
Here could be some more books that are just as useful
But they may not be in my bookshelf
Don't Make Me Think!: A Common Sense Approach to Web Usability
Web Standards Solutions: The Markup and Style Handbook, 2nd Edition
HTML, XHTML, and CSS: Visual QuickStart Guide: With XHTML and CSS (Visual QuickStart Guides)
Emotional Design: Why We Love (or Hate) Everyday Things
Information Architecture for the World Wide Web: Designing Large-Scale Web Sites
Eric Meyer on CSS (Voices (New Riders))
Elements of User Experience: User-centered Design for the Web (Voices (New Riders))
